On "August", Tina Turner sings
on two tracks , "Hold on" where
she is in the choral, and "Tearing
us apart" where she does a duet with EC. We also find "It's
the way you use it", " a track that EC originally composed for the original
soundtrack of "The Color of Money"
It is not the first time that EC makes an incursion in the world of movies. In 1985, "Heaven is one step away" figures on the soundtrack of "Back to the future" .
In 1987, EC cooperates to the composition of the "Lethal Weapon" soundtrack on 2 titles.
And with all this stuff, he does a huge number of concerts as guest star for, for instance, the Rolling Stones, the Little Feat, Jack Bruce, Elton John, Dire Straits…
1987 is also the end of the long and tumultuous story between EC
and Pattie Boyd. Even after the birth of Conor, their son, Pattie get the divorce
in 1988.
"Crossroads"
a 6 LP album (4 CD), is released in 1988 and relates the extraordinary first
25 year of EC's career. Always in 1988, EC participates with the Bee Gees to
the realization of "One moment in time", the official album of the summer
Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Under the alias of Bun Burries, he interprets "Five meters how long", then he signs the original soundtrack of Mickey Rourke's "Homeboy".
It is also at this moment that Fender creates and commercializes
a model named "Eric Clapton". This guitar is the reproduction of Blackie,
the black strato tuned by EC with which he plays since the end of the 60's.
