LEE : "ERIC USED A FIREBIRD AT THE Cream farewell concert and there's a great story attached to this red one. A guy in America who's a great fan of Eric's - I believe he's an ex-policeman - brought it along during the day and I was asked to look at it. I said, 'Yeah, nice guitar. So en he asked if I'd give it to Eric, I said, 'Sure, I'll take it to him with your best wishes and, if he's willing to accept it, I'll try and get you to meet him after the show. So I take the guitar into the dressing room and Eric says, 'Let me try it, and this was about half an hour before the gig. He said, ' Yeah, stick some 10s on it and I'll play it tonight' I knew where this guy was sitting, and I could see him looking at the guitar there in the rack. Then, when Eric walked on and I handed it to him, you could hear this guy above everybody else, going... 'YEEEAAGGGHH!!!"
